Spring seems to be award season, and BHS is fortunate to have students who have received recognition and awards for their hard work and skills.

The BHS music department competed in Festival of Music as part of their annual music trip itinerary and garnered strong scores for several performing groups:
Chorale - 83.33 (Excellent), Concert Quire - 85.33 (Excellent), Vocal Ensemble - 86 (Excellent), Concert Band - 87.33 (Excellent), String Ensemble - 79.17 (Good) and Jazz Band - 91.83 (Superior).

Congratulations to all DECA International competitor who attended this year's KDC in Atlanta, Georgia. Emma Bequiri received a medal for top performance in a role play. George Fox was awarded as an International Top 10 winner of the event. Impressive performance by all.

The 22nd Annual Teen Poetry Contest Reading & Award Ceremony was held April 25th at the Beverly Public Library.  BHS students recognized were high school division first place winner, Sofia Bucco (grade 9) for "A Poem Called 'Poem'" honorable mention recipient, Paris O'Brien (grade 10) for "Mediocrity." There were more than 500 entries this year; 17 finalists from 5 schools were selected by the three judges, who are all professional writers and poets. Entrants must attend a public or private school in Beverly or live in Beverly and be in grades 6 through 12. Students compete in a middle school or a high school division, depending on their grade level.

Beverly High School was awarded Honorable Mention by The National Academy of Arts and Television (Boston / New England Chapter) for Uatchet Juch and Iseabail Kelley's Drinking and Driving Prevention Public Service AnnouncementThe National Academy of Television Arts and Science Student Awards encourages the pursuit of excellence in video production and focuses public attention on outstanding achievements produced by students. Student Awards for excellence are awarded by The Regional Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences award for excellence in media. The project was completed as a project in one of Ms. Lloyd's media classes.
