Administative Corner

First quarter has ended, and we are well into second quarter and all the events and activities of a busy school year. In particular, our students have been showing growth in academics and personal development.
Beverly High School has begun a new student recognition program.  Each month, faculty and staff can nominate a student who they feel through actions embodies the Panther Spirit- the traits of involvement in the school community, kindness to others, and respect for self, people and property. The Climate Committee, comprised of students and staff chose from the nominees a Student of the Month for each class. Congratulations to October's Student of the Month -senior, Foster Smallman, junior, Merianne Batista, sophomore, Daniel Wittenberg and freshman, Matthew Duvall. November's Student of the Month will be announced in the first week of December.

On November 16th, Beverly High School recognized 69 John and Abigail Adams Scholars with the annual breakfast. The John and Abigail Adams Scholarship is a merit-based program that provides a tuition waiver for up to eight semesters of undergraduate education at a Massachusetts state college or university. These students scored in the Advanced category on either the Mathematics or the English Language Arts section of the grade 10 Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System test and scored in the Proficient or Advanced category on the second subject (Mathematics or English Language Arts). In addition, 15 Advanced Placement scholars, 10 Advanced Placement Scholars with Honors and Advanced Placement AP Scholars with Distinction were recognized that morning, as well as, 3 National Merit Commended Students.
